Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (Bursa: AXREIT, 5106) listed in 2005 and describes itself as Malaysia's first REIT. An Islamic REIT, it owns warehouses, factories and offices in Selangor, Johor, Penang and three other states, and keeps buying more, often in sale-and-leaseback deals.
